A Lens implant (or IOL) is used  to replace the cataract (crystalline lens) during cataract surgery or to correct your optical prescription when standard laser procedures are not advisable. The standard monofocal, or single focus IOLs, have been around for some time. However, premium IOLs have been developed to reduce, though not eliminate the need for spectacles.
